The Plymouth Task Force to End Homelessness is dedicated to ending homelessness in the Plymouth (MA) area. Their primary areas of focus are finding permanent housing with supportive services and providing emergency sheltering during the winter months. The past year was exceptionally challenging with the addition of many migrant families, and many people were housed in the Baymont Hotel. The Taskforce works with individuals, local businesses, government agencies, and community organizations to meet the needs of our homeless folks.

Our church held several food drives during the year and some of the food collected was donated to The South Shore Food Warehouse. The Food Distribution Center (part of the S. Shore Community Action Council of Plymouth) was formed in 2002 with the goal of getting more nutritious food to more hungry people in the most cost-effective way through coordinated food pick-up, transport, storage, and distribution.

Multiple Food Drives allows us to donate to the various food banks in the Plymouth area such as the Salvation Army, The Plymouth Coalition for the Homeless, Christ Church, the Second Church of Plymouth, The American Legion, and other food pantries.

Located right here in Plymouth, Manomet Conservation Sciences is a world-wide organization focused on building science-based solutions to environmental problems by using science developed by themselves and partners to create long-term solutions that meet human and ecological needs.

The Fragment Society uses collected funds to support those individuals in the Plymouth community that reach out for some small financial support when they are in need. The Fragment Society has existed for over 200 years in Plymouth.

Since 2002, St. Rock Haiti Foundation (SRHF) has worked with the Saint Rock community to strategize, plan, and put into place programs that work to address the root causes of the many devastating issues that plague this impoverished community. SRHF has taken a holistic approach but early on identified the lack of healthcare in their community and the surrounding area as a priority. A medical clinic was built and the first year of operation saw 100 registered patients. The foundation has also initiated programs in education, clean water, micro loans, and agriculture. When Covid19 appeared, measures such as handwashing stations, dedicated areas for isolation, mask mandates and a vaccine campaign were put in place. Haiti has the highest maternal death rate in the Western Hemisphere. One out of every five children will die before they reach the age of six. In response, SRHF is focusing on the future construction of a center for maternal/child health.

"Ending poverty begins with agriculture" …. the mission of Heifer International is to end hunger and poverty in a sustainable way by supporting and investing alongside local farmers and their communities while caring for the Earth. The Church of the Pilgrimage has been a supporter of Heifer since 1973. Heifer’s unique program provides over 20 species of farm animals that provide milk, eggs, and meat for families; offspring and products are sold to provide other necessities.  Since 1944 Heifer has worked in 125 countries and helped 32 million families.

We support the four yearly missions that the United Church of Christ (UCC) has established:

  • One Great Hour of Sharing

  • Strengthening the Church

  • Neighbors in Need

  • The Christmas Fund
